The lonely Hindu temple of Bandar Abbas, and a visit to the Hormuz island

You are in Bandar Abbas and you desperately want to go to Chaahar, but you cannot.  Why? Because it is a long bus ride away from Bandar Abbas and you don't have time to do this side trip.  What a pity!  So you quickly settle on exploring Bandar Abbas and the Hormuz island.

Sign outside the Bandar Abbas Hindu temple, built during the Qajar dynasty period

A sign said there was a fee to visit the Hindu temple.  Why did I need to pay anything to visit a place of worship?

I spoke Urdu/Hindi with the custodians and one man who understood me--and could speak a few words--was impressed.

There was nothing impressive to see in the temple.  I was very interested in knowing the names of the people who built the temple, but that information was not there.

Next day I took a ferry to the  Hormuz Island.

There was a lot to see on the Hormuz Island.

Salt rocks

A site called the 'Salt Goddess' had impressive formations of salt rocks.

Went around the Hormuz Island on a Tuk-tuk.

Names have been given to every rock formation resembling an animal or bird

The tour was over in around 2 hours.
